Assuming that Mr. Cardozo knows how many claims there are and is not inflating the figure to look good. Even then the numbers do not match what it has cost to pay out 300 thousand.
100 million in costs. Thats a ratio of 333,333.00 in expenses for every dollar paid out.
Even if you only give half that or 500,000.00 to each person, that still leaves the fund with 500 million to draw on.
Looks like the fund managers are working very hard at keeping their jobs, forever, at the expense of the people that really need it.

This money was set aside for heroes who are VICTIMS. NOT for Napoli Kaiser Bern or Ripka. Google Napoli. And "Marc Bern". Check out their Phen-fen rip offs and how they demean clients, especially women. Napoli Bern should be removed from this case asap. And in general, there should be 1) stiff prison penalties for lawyers found guilty and 2) limit to how much blood-sucking attorneys can squeeze from the frail, injured bodies of others.

If the city was planning on giving any money to the injured 9/11 workers and volunteers in the first place, it wouldn't have taken them over 7 yrs to only give out $300,000. If it weren't for their refusal to pay out, there would have been no need for a class action suit. But obviously, there is a need to take action. So regardless of their alleged history, what are the attorneys supposed to do now? Work for free? That's not how it works. If you will note, Napoli, Bern, Ripka has already spent over $10,000,000 out of their own pockets trying to get their clients the money they deserve. That does not sound like a money sucking law firm to me.

The office of Napoli&Bern is located right next to Ground Zero. They have experienced that horrific day first hand. They have laid out millions of dollars thus far to fight for the 9/11 workers because they believe it is a just fight and not many others are willing to take this on. They deserve to be compensated. I think they are heroes as well.

Is someone editing this blog? Please allow both sides. Not pr spin for greedy lawyers. Please note report above doesn't mention Napoli Bern Ripka spent 10 mil, so we wonder why mention/pr spin that amount? That number (which I don't believe)actually comes from rich Mr. Napoli himself, and is mentioned in different reports, not this one... but it doesn't matter anyway because his costs are irrelevant to heroic volunteers who worked for FREE. The office of Napoli Bern were and still are standing. They knew immediately it was ok. Napoli is and should be scrutinized. THOUSANDS of his CLIENTS feel victimized by him already. That's why many feel HIM & MARC BERN etc should be scrutinized before he does it again. The NY appellate court has cleared the way for a trial on a lawsuit filed against Napoli's law firm and their alleged manipulation on "fen phen settlement money for 5,600 clients". An ethics professor watching Napoli's fen-phen case is quoted in NY Times he's "deeply concerned" the Napoli firm is representing ground zero workers. Let's see if more victims and Napoli Bern etc clients come forward.

Napoli & Bern did spend $10,000,000 but that is because they filed each person individually so they could collect 40% fees instead of being limited to 5.9% -9% fees they'd be stuck with if it was a certified class action that's $400 million out of that billion plus what they just keep on top of that.They have Mantitory Mediation clauses in their retainer agreements that say clients can't sue but have to seek mediators.In their Fen/Phen case 01CIV10868 5800 people were shorted and the case was dismissed and they were told to get Mediators.
