The secret to an effective stunt person or body double is to get you to believe (belief transfer) that the actor can or has done the heroic and incredible deed. Here enters Sarah Palin the "stunt person" to the rescue of John McCain who is an un-palatable and empty candidate with a dry "persona" barely containing the angry and un-poised persona he has been known to frequently unleash. Sarah Palin has been able to bring a more pleasant persona to the road-show and has become John McCain's softer and more pleasant face. Unable to stand on her own two feet (something the Republican handlers are well aware of and the reason for the anti-media "containment force-field" placed around her)she has directed her efforts to regurgitating the same tired lines the handlers are feeding her. She is truly a great "stunt-person" and has managed to achieve a measure of "belief-transfer" for John McCain (or is it that Republicans secretly dislike Sarah Palin but at the same time realise that at the 11th hour the only choice is to "grin and bear it" rather than risk division and the loss of the elections?). Although, the choice of Palin has made it obvious that there is a certain longing for the 1850's.

Excuse me while I vomit, if you please.

Hey who took my pen and didn't return it?

The 'lost' Palin files

I dont question Palins faith, I question her ability to run a country, given her educational shortcomings, posessing a degree in journalism, whereas Biden and Obama are well versed concerning international relations. I don't mean Sarah Palin - I mean all the people dismissing her as a beauty queen/ditz.

You just don't get it. Look at Palin's deeds. Sure, she pens nice notes expressing gratitude. However that does not make her a ditz! Rather, it suggests that she is someone who likes to let people know that their efforts are appreciated. This is the hallmark of a great leader, one who knows the meaning of "downward accountability". You can give me Palin over the aloof douche-bags I have had the misfortune to work for any day of the week.

To those people who think that just because she pens nice thank you notes that she doesn't have the steel to whip people into shape, please look at all the evidence. This is someone who, instead of adopting the go-along get-along attitude that was the way in Alaska, chose to take on her own party to weed out corruption. She took on some powerful opponents (something that many people talk a big game about, but actually wilt when put to the test) and in the process made some powerful enemies. That is the evidence you look for when you want proof of inner steel.

Sarah Palin is a perfect example of "An iron fist in a velvet glove".

As regards "what will other leaders think if she sends them a thank you note?" Probably better of her, I'd suggest.

Finally, to the clowns who thinks that "I can see Russia from Alaska" is all Sarah Palin can contribute to foreign policy, I think you miss the point. Sarah Palin grew up in Alaska during the Cold War. Russia was just across the Bering Strait. The enemy was literally just at the gates. Make no mistake, Alaskans would have felt the existential threat of Russia just a bit more keenly because Alaska, of all US states, could have actually been invaded by the Soviet Union. Hence, Cold War politics would have been a bit more relevant to the ordinary Alaskan than to other Americans. Palin's statement that "Russia can be seen from Alaska" is a statement marinated in that world-view.

Speaking as someone who lives in another "frontier state", albeit in Australia, I think Palin's education and background in a frontier-state, where you recognise the value of working together, and that enemies within can be as big a threat as enemies without, is an excellent primer for leadership of the Free World. Go Sarah!

The 'lost' Palin files

When my dear friend was killed in a car crash, Sarah made the time to call her husband and check on her children. My friend had taught Bristol and that was a considerate and polite thing to do. I might also add that Senator Ted Stevens, who unlike Sarah, had no connection to my friend, not only called the family, but had his office contact me and keep tabs on the family and how they were coping. Both offered any assistance they could. Yes, Alaska is small in population, but maybe some down home manners is what Washington D.C. needs. As someone who has met and spoken with Sarah on several occassions, let me assure you, she is sincere. She is polite. She is tough. Just because you are considerate of others does not mean you cannot stand up when you need to. Please keep in mind, as mayor she actually went out and met people. She knew these people. Finally on my last note here is my absolute irritation in the foreign policy. I won't say she has tons of experience, nor does Obama (why are we comparing the VP canidate and the Presidential one) but saying she has none???? When did Canada become part of the U.S.? Well, since those types of comments are against Palin and thus McCain, are they trying to say that Obama and Biden are going to be tough and not waste tax dollars? That's the funniest thing I've read today! Liberal democrats are the kings of wasting money, especially someone elses. Tough? Oh my. Tough on the economy and anyone who actually wants to work for a living and be successful. Liberals are so funny! I just watched Bill Maher and he had Janeane Garofalo as a guest and she said, "Democrats are funamentally more decent than Republicans". I almost "clinged to my gun" and shot my TV! As soon as you have conflicting beliefs (believe in God and creation, against gay marriage, go hunting, eat meat, believe in the strenght of capitalism, etc), you're hated, put down, called names, called a "braindead Bible thumper" and the like.

Also, why can't a liberal answer a question with an answer? Why if you ask a liberal to explain dumb things Obama has said or done, or the MANY dumb things Biden has said, they answer, "yeah, but what about Bush.. or what about Palin.. or McCain", instead of just saying, "well yes, I think Obama's assocation with Ayers probably isn't good". Better yet, I'd love to see a liberal say why they condone Obamas preacher or Ayers, or Flager or Resko! Please, tell me why you support Obama based on those things! I'd love to hear it!

However, most dumb liberals don't know or care to know about Obama or Biden. It's not like they're ever going to hear anything bad about them from MSDNC, or ABC or CNN or CBS.

Oh well, there's my rant. It won't change a thing, but I'll feel better at least. Liberals are happy to have their "messiah", and they could care less what he thinks, says, does or believes. He's NOT Bush and he IS a liberal...that's all they need to vote for him. If he wins, enjoy your new country! We can call it Amerika, since we'll either be Socialist or Communist. Of course, the typical tree-humping liberal won't care, they're more than happy to give up a portion of their stuff to give it to someone who never worked so much as a second for it. Me, I'm proud of the fact that I've worked hard my whole adult life for what I have. I'm not going to willingly give my wealth, my home or any of my possessions to some loser who has decided to sit at home and do nothing. - Oh by the way, for all you liberal haters that are going to write something bad about my post because I live in Utah.. I'm NOT a Mormon!

The 'lost' Palin files

Everyone, take a deep breath, and ask yourself two questions: 1. What has Palin done in office? 2. What has Obama done in office?

In Alaska, Palin has taken on the corrupt politicians in her own party and been so successful, her state's Democrats give her an approval rating of 75%.

In Chicago, Obama has never tried to take on the city's corrupt politicians, must less defeated them. Some, in fact, are his friends. What is his popularity rating among Illinois Republicans? Rather dismal I suspect, and for good reason.

In Alaska, Palin defeated three major oil companies who wanted major tax breaks for building a natural gas line to the states. She gave the contract to an experienced outside contractor, who's already begun work.

In his entire life, has Obama never taken on a single corporation eager for a government handout? No, if fact in the Senate only Çhris Dodd, a fellow liberal Democrat, has taken more lobbyist money from mortgage conglomerates Freddie Mae and Freddie Mac than Obama.

Do you want the demonstrated competence of Palin or the smooth-talking Obama who's never done anything of significance in his entire life.

If you want to know what someone will do, look at what they have done.

The 'lost' Palin files

I used to live in Alaska, about 15 years ago I had a face to face conversation with a Russian citizen. She is a very attractive woman. She is interested in making things work and that people around her be held accountable. These are fine qualities and she is no doubt a fine person. She is not qualified to be the President of the United States. (that is the single most important qualification for Vice President in the 21st Century). That is not her fault. By her own admission she said that she accepted because John McCain said that she could help him to lead the country. She is patriotic and said, "yes sir". Nothing to fault her for. She has shown by her responses to several interviews that she is not capable at this point to be President. That is not her fault. The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of John McCain, who has clearly demonstrated that he no longer possesses the judgment, temperament, or rational thought processes necessary to govern this country. He should stay in the Senate, or better yet, retire and enjoy life on another stage of service to his country. He deserves it, he has earned it. And we cannot afford the grave risk to our nation or the world which the election this pair would represent. It's a pity because he would have been a worthy opponent to Al Gore in 2000 and I think our country would have been far better served if he had been the Republican nominee over the Shrub as Molly Ivens so mischievously put it.

The 'lost' Palin files

comments have been censored and approved by thr angry left, tyvm

The 'lost' Palin files

Sarah calls, waving her arm...

This way, Lemmings...and all the little Republicans line up behind her.

The 'lost' Palin files

AS FAR AS i'M CONCERNED HER FILES CAN CONTINUE TO BE LOST...SHE IS A BIG FAT LOSER.

The 'lost' Palin files

re: The lost Palin files:
Thank you for this telling report. Somehow many of you feel that a woman cannot be an effective Governor and a human being with a family and manners.
Governor Palin, does seem to be an effective governor, in that she has accomplished specific goals she set out to and still has an approval rating three times that of her opponent.
Whether you feel that she is qualified to be vice-president is a fair question. But if you are going to admonish her for being able to be successful and still have time for her family, perhaps you should also tell every other working mother in this country that she cannot support might want to meditate upon. The first is Exodus 21:22--
"If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she has a miscarriage yet there is no further injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him and he shall pay as judges decide. But if there is further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life."

This clearly states the secondary status of the fetus according to the scriptures. That the life and health of the mother are of greater importance.

In regard to stem cell research keeping the preceeding conclusion in mind, I refer to Proverbs 3:27
"Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it."

Clearly there are some who elevate the mere doctrines of men above the God that they claim to worship. If indeed those whom we may consider for our EMPLOY are morally deficient in these regards, what else might we infer!

The 'lost' Palin
