But why should Mushtaq Yusufzai get prosecuted? He simply is reporting news. Here is a man that is putting his life on the line because at given time the Taliban could have gotten spooked somehow and killed him. If we didn't have reporters that are doing what he is doing you would get seriously sensored news. Which happens in the states regularly but imagine for a minute the degree that is would reach. They probably will attempt to procecute him but what a sad day. Aiding and abetting is rediculous because he did not assist in a military mission or even attend one. By simply staying in a room with Sirajuddin Haqqani should not constitute that. I am certainly not a simpethiser of the Taliban nor any extreme group and I am veteran as well. There is possibility that this nutcase radical islamist is just trying to use this opputunity as a propaganda weapon but you have to take what he said into consideration and judging by the current situation in Afghanistan you would have to wonder.

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

I agree with Geoff from Salinas. When is the U.S. media going to quit pandering to these TERRORISTS? Yes, you heard me right, terrorists! The journalist should be prosecuted for aiding and abetting the enemy!

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

The reporter aids the Taliban of his strategy of spreading fear among Aghan's by giving him a voice to make accusations which we have no way to substantiate. It is of course possible that there is a corrupt Army General. This possibility should not surprise anyone. In our own country we are preparing to prosecute a long-time Boston FBI agent for assisting organized crime leaders. If this Taliban "leader" had a just cause then he would show his face. He takes credit for the indiscriminant killings of his fellow Afghans in a hotel in Kabul. Iran considers America as its enemy. Current Afghan regime enjoyed strong ties with Iran and now ruling with help of America. India has strong ties with current Afghan govt and both have anti pakistani motives. Pakistan is an important ally of America and without its help war on terror could not be won. Pakistanis think that America, India and Afghan govt are involved in destablizing Pakistan to realize breakup of Pakistan suggested by CIA. Winning Afghan war without Afghan Pushthuns is not possible who are becoming more and more distracted from current Afghan govt. Also Taliban are dominantly Pushthuns. Continuing military operations in border areas of Pakistan are also turning locals against Pakistani forces and America which is benefitting Taliban.
Reports such as this one, are not surprising in such situations.

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

These are all your men in past so interact with them in politicall wayexplain your presence in there country and try to make a soloution of it .To safe the country Pakistan and world from Terrorism.

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

If this was 1776, NBC news would be Hung as a trader.
They had our enemy in front of the Camera & they didn't turn them over to the US Military or Nato?
I'm sorry, in war, there is no free speech for the enemy.
Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

sadly i hope hes not correct about the narco comment but a part of me feels he is

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

M. Interviewing is not aiding the enemy. Hearing from another's perspective is not aiding the enemy. Its called journalism......You only say that because he has a foreign sounding name. If Tom Brokaw was doing the interview; you'd say he was fearless. This man is just trying to do his job, and allow readers to read a perspective they don't normally read. If you just think of a group of people as "the enemy" and don't ever try to understand the way they think, you're not doing yourself or anyone else a favor.

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

The comments made by this leader of the taliban are not above question, but on the other hand it answers a lot of questions

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

Wayne Tilly. That violent biggotry exists at all in this century is truly unfortunate. I believe the coalition is up to the task of slowly removing the ideology that separates the middle east from peacefully sharing the world we live in. Unfortunate as well is the confrontation required to alter their millenia long desire to keep "holy lands" free of outsiders by threat of death. Since 9-11 it is apparent that goal extends to all parts of the globe for those who have the desire to rule the world. What a waste of life.

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

This report may be true or it may not be true. For kuran teaches muslims to use hypocrisy to overcome the unbelievers. The rule laid down by the kuran is this: When a muslim faces an unbelievers who is stronger than him to overcome openly, what to do is to let the unbeliever see than he is cooperating with him, to let him believe that the muslim is his ally. And the confidence is built between the two, and that unbeliever have trust on him then muslim act secretly to prepare its weapons to strike and defeat the unbeliever. In other terms, the rule is fake cooperation and in the same time preparing the weapons needed to slain the unbeliever. All the muslim know this rule of the kuran.

In the war on Western people and all those who do not follow islam are the unbelievers. Today these unbelievers are stronger than the muslim then the tecahing is applied by the officials of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran and all other muslim countries. You cannot request them to violate the teaching of their holy book.

This is why US and other western countries should stop selling sophisticated weapons to the muslim countries for they will use them one day against these western unbelievers.

In the war on terror, western countries are alone. They must understand it and be prepared to fight alone. For how can you expect a pakistani to help a US unbeliever fight and kill his fellow muslim Ben Ladin or al Zawahiri? STOP BEING NAIVE FOR YOUR SAFETY.

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

This is too funny, NBC spreading Taliban propanganda and paying off terrorists. The same NBC that is pushing Obama's propanganda to work for his election. The same Obama that wants to invade Pakistan and send 10,000 more US troops to fight these same Taliban. More confused communist-liberal Democrat thinking. Vote for Obama is a vote for more war, boy, some change.
Real Chicago dirty politico change, talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

it was just an interview, it is the professional obligation of the reporter,

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

Our focus after 9-11 was to prevent those who attacked us from feeling they could do this at will. Quite probably, but not many. 90% of the Taliban come from one Pashtun tribe: the Ghilzai. The Ghilzai are the largest single tribe and traditional enemies of the second largest tribe: the Durrani. President Karzai is a Durrani.

Lastly, the situation on the ground here in Afghanistan is far more complex than either the Administration or the media make it out to be, but it is far from hopeless. It takes, on average, ten years to defeat an insurgency simply because the insurgents avoid open conflict with superior forces. This one really didn’t start cooking until 2006.
Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

just wonderful job..every reporter woul like to do such a great job.
congratulation

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

Ironic how perceptions change. When Haqqani the father (Jalaludddin Haqqani) was killing Soviets we cheered and passed on money and arms to him. Now, when Haqqani the son (Sirajuddin Haqqani) does the same thing to us, we heap invective on him. The truth is that both men were and continue to fight in the service of the same cause, the expulsion of foreigners from Pushtun land. I'm afraid we have become the latter-day Soviets in the eyes of many, both in and outside of Afghanistan, trying to impose a regime subservient to ourselves on the complex and conservative society that is Afghanistan. The end result will almost certainly be little different from that suffered by the Soviet-sponsored 20 years ago.

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

I'm deployed to Afghanistan now, and I believe it...seeing it first hand. If you think otherwise, I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.

Taliban commander: Afghan officials are helping kill Americans

When will everyone wake up and see the light?
